I ‘m back to family sessions again which is always a good thing I met this particular family while I’ve been working at Banana Republic. Stone is one of my many mangers and I’ve gotten to know his wife Jen and daughter Bella over the past year with their many visits that we all love and enjoy. Bella, as you will see has a spirit that is like no other. She’s a charmer, a talker, a great giver of hugs and has a smile that just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy and she’s got some great attitude for the camera I’m so happy that you guys had such a great time and that Bella wants to take pictures now. I hope we can do this again and thanks for all the laughs and all the walking See you soon.

Fashion Shoot for Dajani Designs

My photography has taken a little detour into the fashion world and it is definitely pushing me to become a better photographer. For me, getting to know who I’m photographing is part of the process. I get to know a little about who they are and then I get to photograph the essence of their personality so you can really see the moment as if you were right there with me. So shooting a dress instead of smiling baby is a little different. Even though I had a gorgeous model to work with.. it wasn’t about her, it was about the clothes. How they looked on, the color, the texture of the fabric, the way it moved when she walked. Fashion photography is by no means easy just because you have killer clothes and a hot model. It’s so much more than that and I love that it pushes me to hone my skill. These beautiful gowns were created by the beautiful and talented Al-Anoud Dajani. She asked me to shoot these for her collection and I was so thrilled and honored to help her show her passion and creativity. I am so blessed to be surrounded by creative and talented artists who love to do what they do best. Thank you to Al-Anoud for her Spring Collection and to Mariam Berry our lovely model. Can’t wait to shoot the Fall Collection.

I Met at Amy at Momo’s

When I moved to Portland a little over a year ago I was introduced to Momo’s from a good friend of mine. This little bar can blend into the scenery if your not looking for tasty spirits and good company. Don’t be fooled by its dark interior and dim lighting… it has the most colorful people I have ever met. Amy is the bartender at Momo’s, ever since I met her I knew that she would be just so much fun to photograph. I knew her vibrant spirit and energy would come thorough for the camera and I was right. We had such fun taking these pictures. Thank you Amy for be so willing and running to try and beat the sunset. Can’t wait to do this again!

Kate The GREAT!

I met Kate about a year ago at work. I immediately knew that I wanted to shoot a forty’s style session with her. She has this glamorous quality about her that she’s not aware of which makes her even more beautiful. So we went to the Downtown Portland Train Station which was an absolutely perfect location for this particular session. Everyone I know just adores Kate and they should, she is an amazing individual, one-of-a kind Kate. A great big Thank you to Kate for being so much fun and such a trooper in those heels.

We came across this little restaurant on one of our walks to find something to eat for dinner. A small quaint, yellow building with Le Happy written in blue letters. I instantly wanted to be inside. Once we entered I instantly knew everything was going to be wonderful. From the fabulous local art on every menu to the disco ball hanging from the ceiling reflecting off the red walls. If you happen to bring a group of friends pull out one of the many board games that they have for their patrons. While you wait for your food make sure to order one of their sexy cocktails like the “Here Kitty”. A sweet concoction that makes you So Happy! Oh, did I mention it’s all Crepes!

From the yummy 5 Cheese crepe to my all time favorite Le Trash Blanc accompanied with a Pabst to make the dish complete. I usually don’t have room for dessert, but someday I will order the Belle Helena, poached pears, semi-sweet chocolate, walnuts and whipped cream. Mmmm, makes me hungry just typing about it and they also make it incredibly easy to fix my sweet tooth since they are open Friday and Saturdays till 2:30 am! This is my kind of place! Hope you get a chance to have your own Le Happy

I had a wonderful surprise yesterday, Happy Hour! Joshua took me to a little place in the Pearl called Vino Paradiso, Wine Bar and Bistro Extraordinaire! I instantly fell in love with ambiance as well as the retro-modern decor. What impressed me the most ( besides the 2007 and 2008 Wine Spectator Award for theie Wine selection) was their detail to food as well. Watching their Chef Ian Duncan prepare our dishes before our eyes was quite a treat. You can tell he takes great pride in preparing each dish, from the tasty cheese plate to the amazing melt in your mouth Peaches wrapped in panchetta with greens… That was by far my favorite. I wish we would have saved room for dessert. I’m sure we will back again, real soon.

There are so many resons to love Portland, but todays Bastille Day makes the list of reasons to love Portland. They kicked it off with the Waiter Race where the waiters had to walk around Jameson park three times holding a tray with threee glasses of water. Joshua took third! Yeah! There was so much yummy french food and so many liitle ones having fun in the fountain. It was a great people watching day. I’m so glad that I got to experience Bastille Day Portland style.

I finally got to meet up with Valerie and finish our baby session we had planned. Her little girl is so adorable, I couldn’t help but get some beautiful images. We took our time with little one, going by her ques and I got to learn about how loved this girl is by all her family. I had a great visit with mom while it was lunch time for Bunny ( this is her nickname BTW). Thank you again for the ride Valerie, I greatly appreciate it and the beautiful sights of the West Hills and the tid-bit about Everclear! I learn something new everyday! See you soon!

I met Valerie a few weeks ago at my work. It was very fortuitous meeting. She was looking for a photographer to capture her family visiting from London . Her two brothers and sister-in law were in Portland for a little over a week to meet the new addition to the family. They decided they wanted to do a family portrait for their parents, but to have some fun at the same time. It was so wonderful to meet all of you. Hope you had a safe trip back to London . Thanks for being so much fun with all those tourists around.

I have written about Molly and Brian in a previous entry. We took some uraban shots in the pearl for Molly’s pregnancy session. Well, we thought we should follow up with a few indoor shots to get the whole experience. Since we had to shoot at two differnet times, we had some time to think about what silly picture they wanted they take. This couple was up for anything, which makes my job even more fun. They really wanted a tongue and cheek picture to make this event even more memorable. We settled on a few traditional shots and of course the best shot of the day. Thanks again you guys, you guys are the best. Your baby is one lucky kid to have such cool parents!
